Indian head massage is based on the ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousands of years. The aim of Indian head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. It is a wonderful therapy that promotes relaxation and wellbeing.

--------------------------------------------------

  • 1 Day Course: Learn the movements applied in the neck, shoulder, scalp and face.
  • 3 Day course: learn the massage and pressure points applied to the back, shoulder, neck, scalp and face, together with the application of oils and chakra balancing. (All different movements than on 1 day courses)

--------------------------------------------------

This two day course is for ideal for students who want to be able to perform a Professional Indian Head Massage on clients using aromatic oils. It is a 'hands on' course and because it is held over two days, students have plenty of time to grasp and practice the techniques.

Previous experience is not necessary.

Indian Head Massage is a very therapeutic massage of the shoulders, neck, scalp and face for the relief of muscular tension, stress, headaches and many other symptoms. It can be performed with or without the use of massage oil. Unlike other courses out there, you will learn how to work with aromatic and carrier oils as this gives a much more therapeutic massage and is far more popular with clients. The receiver of the massage is seated on a chair and fully clothed but wearing a T-shirt or vest to enable the upper back and shoulders to be massaged.

Therapists find Indian Head Massage is a convenient form of treatment to offer in that:
- No special resources are required
- It is a quick and effective in terms of results
- It may be accessed anywhere because of its portable nature
Business opportunities are varied. Many therapists travel to clients in their homes, and others work from home. Other opportunities include working in hairdressing salons, beauty salons or in the workplace.
It is a wonderful opportunity for those who would like to be self-employed, working to fit round family commitments, or to work alongside an existing job.

You will learn the theory of the Indian Head Massage and observe and practice the Indian Head Massage movements on fellow students.

This makes the course amazing value for 1 day of professional tuition!

As this is a professional course, you will sit a short multiple theory test at the end of the day and your tutor will observe the class performing a complete Indian Head Massage treatment.

Those with no massage experience can join and gain insurance through the Guild of Holistic or Beauty Therapists and start working immediately. If you already have insurance, check with your insurance provider that you can add this Diploma to your policy. You can decide on whether to join one of these associations and get insurance or to attain insurance only. If you only intend to practice on friends and family, you do not need to join a professional body.
