Chronic fatigue and environmental stress in the home In the last few years there has been a plethora of magazine articles and lifestyle TV programmes about house and bedroom makeovers. In my work as an environmental stress consultant, I often deal with the stress overload caused by a lack of comfort and security in peoples homes and particularly their bedrooms. After careful questioning, many people report that they have developed health, financial or relationship problems after carrying out structural changes or redecorating - moving house or changing their work routine. Your answers the following questions will help you to see some of the common stressors that adversely affect your health & prosperity: Outside Have you had a conservatory or an extension built onto the house? Have the next-door neighbours built an extension? Have you planted - taken down trees in your garden? Have the council dug up nearby roads? Have you moved house? Inside Have you changed your job or work routine? Have you taken up a new activity? Have you rearranged furniture recently? Have you redecorated in the past six months? Have you had internal structural alterations? Have you changed your bed position? Is there a room in your house where it is impossible to clear clutter? Do you have mirrors - framed pictures or television in your bedroom? Environmental stress in the home makes it difficult for us to relax or get a good nights sleep. The problem may be anything from an underground stream, to an insecure bed position - a mirror, picture or television in the wrong place. Also nearby road works and building sites or alterations to your home, can create a subtle disturbance in the home, which has a debilitating effect over time. Nearby power supply cables and transformers - aerial transmitters and factories can disturb your sleep. The cure is to balance the flow of energy and there are many ways to do this. Getting good quality sleep will go a long way towards improving health & prosperity. Finding the root cause is like detective work. It is usually something that has been overlooked, or we haven’t got the time or energy to attend to. Your answers to these questions will hep to detect the possible cause: Do you or a family member wake up feeling tired? Do you or a family member constantly feel restless? Are there any unusually cold rooms in your house? Do you have recurring electrical or plumbing faults – insect or vermin infestation? Do you get angry, sad or depressed for no apparent reason on a regular basis? Does it seem like there are not enough hours in a day to get everything done? Do you or a family member have an ailment that requires continuous treatment? Solving the problem: When you find the root cause of a problem, it can usually be fixed. It maybe something you have overlooked – haven’t got the time or energy to attend to. With some assistance you can improve the quality of your life.
