Strelnikova’s breathing
technique is a unique health improvement method that was created several
decades ago in Russia and which has already cured thousands. It is now
accessible to anyone who wants to master and apply it. Practicing
Strelnikova’s breathing technique for 20-30 minutes daily is enough to keep
the body healthy and balanced.
Original application was for restoring of the
voice for singers but later it has been shown that method is effective for
treatment and prophylactic of wide range of respiratory illnesses, in
particular asthma, tuberculosis and chronic bronchitis. Main idea of the
exercises is to exert a strong nasal breath-in (sniff) while compressing the
lungs by a simultaneous straining of different muscles.

Breathing correctly
What can be easier and more natural than breathing? Exhalation and
inhalation bring us oxygen and carbonic gas, without which life would not be
possible. Many centuries ago, people found out that by adjusting and
changing the rhythm of breathing, it is possible to cure many illnesses and
to be charged with positive energy, especially if respiration is correctly
combined with physical exercises.
It is known that
respiratory gymnastics already existed in ancient China, a place where many
methods of health treatment were created. One exercise system invented by
Eastern wise men and healers was called Quiqong (chi kung), from the Chinese
word ki (chi), the life energy giving force to all living things. When there
is a lack of this energy in the body, when it stagnates or is used
incorrectly, an illness appears. With the help of special respiratory and
physical exercises a person can learn to accumulate ki, to distribute it
correctly, and by that to improve one’s health, achieve inner harmony and
live a long and healthy life.
This ancient system is practiced today
by many athletes and movie stars, those who always have to be in shape.
Another, just as ancient system, the yoga art of pranayama breathing
teaches us how to control our vital energy. Pranayama helps to clean the
body, to develop flexibility and strength: but to master it one needs to be
a serious yoga practitioner.
Researchers and adepts of unconventional
breathing techniques have existed in Europe, too. The desire to overcome
numerous illnesses, including asthma and rheumatic fever, led Joseph
Pilates, from Britain, to develop exercises for flexibility and mobility.
Pilates training was applied in post-WWII military hospitals for the
rehabilitation of wounded soldiers, and now this program is offered by many
fitness clubs.
In Russia people first became interested in
respiratory gymnastics at the beginning of the last century. In the 1920s,
Olga Lobanova, having learnt the three-phase breathing system of the German
singer Leo Kofler, developed her own technique of respiratory exercises.
In the 1970s, there appeared in Soviet newspapers the first publications
about Alexandra Strelnikova, a singer who was able to restore her lost voice
with the help of respiratory exercises of her own invention. There was a
paradox, which consisted in the fact that the way breathing and movements
were combined in Strelnikova’s system completely contradicted the rules of
traditional gymnastics.

around to doing it one day. Now is the time to learn about meditation and
how to put it into practice to fit in with your life. Meditation
is the perfect way to relax and beat everyday stress; you may even discover
a little spirituality along the way.
For some
people Visualization can be easier to achieve, and can be used anytime and
anywhere. Learning and practicing the art of visualization can reap
instant rewards and helps us to take a little 'mental holiday' whenever the
stress of everyday life threatens to overwhelm.
I love
mediation and visualization and this workshop is relaxing and calming, but
definitely fun! It is also jam packed with practical hints, tips and
useable exercises.

Baby reflex is a lovely
therapy for parents to use with their own children. It can be used with
babies from 4 weeks to 2 years old. Unlike baby massage, baby reflexology
can be used any time anywhere, as Mum or Dad can use the technique on babies
feet at home or out and about - in the supermarket, on the bus or waiting at
the school gates for big brother or sister; whenever baby needs soothing.

have the key for calming baby literally at their finger tips.

our feet, and Reflexology is the theory and therapy which shows us that
every system and organ in our body is mirrored in our feet.
Reflexology is an amazing holistic (whole body) therapy that can aid
recovery after illness, help physical ailments and relax the mind and
emotions. This comprehensive course will introduce you to the
principles of reflexology and will enable you to safely perform a 30-minute
reflexology routine on yourself, family and friends, by the end of the day.
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a form of bodywork that focuses
primarily on the feet. How does reflexology work?
The underlying theory behind reflexology is that
there are "reflex" areas on the feet and hands that
correspond to specific organs, glands, and other
parts of the body. For example: the tips of the toes
reflect the head the heart and chest are around the
ball of the foot the liver, pancreas and kidney are
in the arch of the foot low back and intestines are
towards the heel. He believed that certain areas on
the feet and hands were linked to other areas and
organs of the body. A scientific explanation
is that the pressure may send signals that balance
the nervous system or release chemicals such as
endorphins that reduce pain and stress.

and what is involved in learning the routine. Learning the routine,
starting with the legs and arms, then the tummy, chest and face,

During sessions I will give you
articles/reports about bonding and baby related issues for you to read
at home (optional).

From
the moment your baby enters the world he (or she) depends on the most
basic of instincts to survive. He’ll recognise you by your smell and
will associate comfort and safety with your voice and touch. When you
massage your baby you will be telling him that he is loved, cared for,
safe and comforted. You, the parent, will gain confidence by the regular
contact and will be able to notice changes, and possibly threatening
conditions, by familiarising yourself with the way your child feels,
looks and behaves.

using massage as a form of communication you can talk and sing to him,
conveying strong messages on a mental, physical and spiritual level,

horizons to legs, feet! Toes!!, arms, hands! Fingers!!
The
physiological benefits of massage can aid pain relief by moving wind,

soothe aching gums and help teething pains. The basic exchange of toxins
for fresh blood helps to smooth frown lines, encourage growth and relax
muscles tensed by bouts of crying or frustration. A relaxed body and
calmed mind sleeps better and for longer, giving his parents a chance to

gift of massage can carry on as he grows, too. Toddlers love playing
‘this little piggy’ with the leg and foot massage or ‘hickory dickory

I'll just be advising you
on the correct way to massage for relaxation. You will gain no
qualification, only confidence.
You don't have to be with
your partner, you can bring a friend or relative to practice the techniques
on (you will probably find no shortage of volunteers!) and the session dates
and times can be booked at your convenience.
So instead of an expensive
romantic meal out, why not book this course and enjoy some romantic,

There are so many stressful
situations to deal with these days. At work there are deadlines, targets,
